Skeet Ulrich in contempt of court for unpaid child support

Child support can be a contentious issue before it is even decided, while the actual decision is being made and when the California court actually issues a support order. The enforcement of a child support order can become even more frustrating for the parent seeking the child support payment when the parent owning child support fails to make his or her required payments.

When a parent who owes child support fails to make his or her required payments, the parent seeking the child support payment has a few options. The options a parent has can vary, but can generally include a request for payment made by the parent or an attorney. If the California court system becomes involved in the enforcement of a child support order, the parent owing the payment may even incur more severe consequences than a simple request for payment.

The severity of the potential consequences faced by a parent who fails to comply with court-ordered child support obligations can include jail time. Actor Skeet Ulrich has recently faced the possibility of a severe consequence from failure to make his child support payments and has been charged with contempt of court.

It is reported the actor is delinquent in his child support payments in the amount of $284,861 and the actor’s failure to make his child support payments has occurred over the past year. The next court hearing for the enforcement of the actor’s child support order is scheduled for February of 2013. An experienced attorney can help a parent obtain their unpaid child support payments.
